A lovely patient of mine made this photo for me for Christmas and it is with me standing next to my son Kai (he is in white) 3 years ago on Mothers Day. Most people don’t know this about me, but I also suffered from infertility and had a miscarriage about a year before my son was conceived. I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism and it did create irregular cycles and many other problems, which my allopathic doctors missed for about ten years. I finally came upon two books called "The Diet Cure" and "Living Well with Hypothyroidism". I learned about more in depth blood tests that could be done to figure out if I had hypothyroidism, and sure enough I had high antibodies (autoimmune) hashimoto’s hypothyroidism.
When they finally found my health issue my blood pressure was only 95/45 and my pulse was in the 50’s. I suffered from many of the hypothyroid symptoms, but none was as concerning as the miscarriage. This is why I love to help Mom’s regain their health so much so that they can conceive.
My Mother told me that having a baby is the most profound thing a woman can do in her lifetime, so I kept trying. When I finally conceived and had my little “Angel” son Kai, I was the happiest Mom in the world and knew what my Mother meant when she told me this.
Given how sick I was before I was diagnosed and got some treatment for my thyroid, I have personally experienced “building blood”, “strengthening Qi”, warming the “womb”. and I know that it is possible. . This is why I like to do functional integrative medicine, as there are strengths in allopathic and holistic medicine, and when integrated are superior.

Last week I had one of the best weeks of my life, next to having my own son. 8 Mom’s conceived, and 6 are still pregnant! 6 new babies may be on their way into this world to make the world a better place. I am not giving up hope for the other two potential Mom’s. These Mom’s have conviction and faith in their hearts and lead by pure passion for a baby. This is the most beautiful force in nature.
