Calming the nervous system down is critical for being fertile ready. Deep breathing, prayer and chanting calms the body and puts the nervous system into the parasympathetic state (aka feed and breed). I have shared previously on how to do self healing meditation CLICK HERE and how to listen to soothing guided meditation/hypnosis CLICK HERE to assist my patients in calming their anxiety, worries and mind.
Meditation has been shown to provide numerous benefits for mental and physical health, and it can be particularly helpful for individuals facing infertility. The practice of meditation, which involves focusing the mind and calming the body, has proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and improve emotional well-being—factors that can greatly affect fertility.
Stress is a known contributor to infertility, and studies have demonstrated that meditation can significantly reduce stress levels. A meta-analysis of 163 studies found mindfulness meditation to be effective in lowering stress, which can help create a more favorable environment for conception.
Meditation also helps manage anxiety, a common issue among individuals struggling with infertility. Research has shown that mindfulness meditation programs can reduce anxiety symptoms to a level comparable to antidepressant medications. Reducing anxiety can make it easier to approach fertility treatments with a calmer, more balanced mindset.
Additionally, meditation fosters a positive emotional outlook by promoting greater life satisfaction and reducing depressive symptoms. A positive mental state can be crucial when navigating the challenges of infertility, helping individuals stay resilient and hopeful.
Lastly, meditation improves overall well-being by enhancing immune function, regulating emotions, and promoting heart health. These benefits may contribute to a healthier body, supporting reproductive health and increasing the chances of conception.
